Seattle, Tacoma & Olympia Newborn Photographer | Digital Backdrops Before & After

If you follow the Dawn Rocks Photography, Seattle newborn photographer, on social media, you may have noticed the last few months the addition of some gorgeous really detailed set ups on some of my posts. I recently began incorporating digital backdrops as an efficient way to add something extra special for a set up or two into my clients newborn session galleries. Normally these set ups would take quite some time to set up and perfect and a newborn session already takes quite some time to get through all the set ups and poses as it is. I wanted to share a before and after of how I shoot in studio for the backdrops and how it comes to life.

I pose baby on a prop designed by the artist that created the digital backdrops. I use a variety of colors over the prop based on the digital backdrop to achieve a seamless and natural look for editing.

These beautiful backdrops are designed and sold by the talented Luisa Dunn Photography shop out of Australia.

Tacoma 6 month milestone session from this summer that is just too sweet I have to share! I am catching up on blogging and starting with this doll. She was just such a joy to have at the Dawn Rocks Photography Studio. From her big smile, to that gorgeous red hair to those sweet blue eyes. She was such a happy and content little one. I am so over the moon every day that I get to call myself a newborn and maternity photographer. What an incredible year it has been! I officially launched Dawn Rocks Photography as a business last August shortly after graduating with my BS in Computer Science and Systems from the University of Washington. I spent the next few months preparing for my husbands homecoming from a deployment, the holidays and gearing up for some really exciting things for 2015. In January, I made the decision to specialize in newborn and maternity portraiture and I have never looked back. Parenthood is such a beautiful time and being able to capture a memory - of how they were when they were that small and the journey of making their grand entrance into this world is amazing. Creating something to cherish that memory, not only for the parents, but for the children and the generations to follow. 

In February I had the opportunity to spend a week with a newborn photographer that I admire and follow Kelly Brown from Little Pieces Photography . Not only did I learn so much about my business and the art of photography, but it was life changing for me personally. I set some goals and my biggest one has already been accomplished. I opened my own commercial studio and this summer that is exactly what I did! It has been quite a task but I would not change a thing! 

So to everyone who has been here to support me and my business along the way, thank you. Your support and love means the world. I adore my clients, watching their families grow and being apart of that journey.  The fellow photographers who lift one another up and help each other grow in this community(Special shout out to Laura Ryan Photography for her friendship and being such a joy in the photographer community to share with and support one another). To my husband and kids who has been so supportive of my love for the art, becoming a business owner and pushing myself to set and work towards these goals.
